Physician Louis Jaggard and his wife Wilhelma served as Christian missionaries in Africa. Louis went by himself in 1909 and returned at least three times with his wife from the 1920s to the 1940s. The couple served with the United Christian Missionary Society. After returning to the United States Louis served as a hospital chaplain in Iowa City.
